When Brit comedy series The Inbetweeners launched back in 2008, who could've ever expected it to enjoy such sustained pop-culture relevance and all-around longevity?
Between three series and two movies, it sure seemed like the coming-of-age sitcom had a good run, with 2014's The Inbetweeners 2 seemingly closing the door on the franchise for good.
But after years of speculation, The Inbetweeners 3 was recently confirmed to not only be happening but already be in production for Netflix, with series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris returning to write and direct, and all four original cast members - Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas - also back.
Belated comedy sequels certainly have an uneven track record, to be kind, so one can only hope that The Inbetweeners 3 manages to justify its own existence without being a depressing reminder of the unstoppable march of time.
