Venom 2: 10 Things We Want To See
4. A Jekyll And Hyde Scenario
One of the highlights of the first film is the dynamic between Hardy's Eddie Brock and the titular space alien. The actor gave a memorable dual performance as both and their coexistence should definitely be the focus of the follow-up.
The "Odd Couple" humor did work well but a rift between the two characters could be just what the doctor ordered in order to solidify a victorious sequel. It seemed like Eddie Brock was in control but after some playful back and forth the two eventually devour a petty criminal. So is Eddie in the driver seat or is the symbiote just making it seem that way?
Venom constantly walks the moral line and it wouldn't be crazy for him to go overboard making Eddie rethink their whole agreement. This could easily lead to a Jekyll and Hyde scenario where Venom tries to control Eddie. The addiction element of the symbiote's storyline may also factor in as Brock possibly tries to lead a life without Venom, in which he can't resist the power and advantage he has when the two are together.
This offers some compelling conflict and gives the filmmakers some interesting opportunities to showcase this dissidence visually.
