4. The Lack Of Spoilers

Though there will inevitably be some grumbles about the lack of much detail in the trailer - with most focus on Venom's conspicuous absence - Sony ought to receive a pat on the back for how committed they are here to not spoiling much. This is Sony after all, who tried valiantly to ruin Spider-Man: Homecoming by either teasing or releasing every valuable scrap of plot detail before it came out.

They could have done the same here, but the fact that we don't know a great deal about the plot even after the trailer has debuted is a strong indicatio that they might have learned their lesson.

There's enough in there to build intrigue and a broad picture of the film being about the symbiote coming to Earth, infecting a victim and being taken in by shady scientists who then either wilfully or accidentally graft it to Eddie Brock, who escapes, but beyond that, the finer details are merficully still clouded.
