View Askewniverse: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

7. Mallrats (1995)

Jay And Silent Bob Kevin Smith
Miramax Film

Set one day before the events of Clerks, Mallrats follows two slackers - Brodie Bruce and T.S. Quint - who spend their day at the mall after both being dumped by their girlfriends.

At the mall, Brodie has to deal with ex-girlfriend Rene starting a relationship with the manager of a clothing store, and T.S. has to deal with his ex's father essentially auctioning her off on the mall-held Truth or Date game show.

Jason Lee is brilliant as the sarcastic Brodie Bruce, whether that's in the Truth or Date segment, listening to him and Stan Lee talk about certain superheroes and their anatomy, or a simple stomach-turning stink palm. Lee is absolutely flawless throughout.

Mallrats being ranked at #7 may seem harsh, as this movie is a guilty pleasure of many. With a tentative sequel in the works - known originally as Mall Brats and now seemingly Twilight of the Mallrats - it shows how much impact this movie has made, even if it's not viewed as one of Kevin Smith's better pictures.
