Vince Vaughn: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Dave - Couples Retreat

Out of all of his recent films, Couples Retreat shows Vince Vaughn at the peak of his €œmeh€ powers.

Directed by that kid from A Christmas Story, it€™s plainly obvious to everyone that the sole reason this movie exists was to give its cast a good excuse to take a vacation to Hawaii. Seriously, there can be no other reason.

Too much of that relaxed attitude seeped into the film, with Vince acting out each scene like he just ate a handful of Xanax, lazily coasting through scenes that were painfully unfunny in the first place, and clearly didn't need a half-assed performance to help them along down the drain.

To be fair, I would have done exactly the same thing - who wouldn't grasp the opportunity to hang out with their best mates on a glorified jolly, taking an ostentatious, and in fact, probably obscene amount of money for very little effort?

Couples Retreat attempted to trade on the pulling power of its stars, and it failed miserably, partly because so many of its stars, led by Vaughn, decided against actually acting like reasonably engaging characters.

Did we get anything wrong? Doe any of Vaughn's performances deserve more or less credit? Share your picks below.
