Wanna hear some facts about SCREAM 4?

Bloody Disgusting have some facts on SCREAM 4, officially announced as "in development" by The Weinsteins in July...

Fact #1: Kevin Williamson (writer of two of the SCREAM films (character credit on third)) is going to start writing a draft, although it may or may not become the shooting script (which is typical). Fact #2: Wes Craven may or may not direct, but there is a very good possibility that he will return. Fact #3: They are making financial offers to David Arquette, Courtney Cox Arquette and Neve Campbell to play cameos. Fact #4: This will be a younger version of the SCREAM movies.
In July, we heard Wes Craven wouldn't automatically say "no" to return for a fourth movie, the first in nine years. Not to sound pessimistic because I actually believe that all three of the SCREAM movies are very good (the first one is one of THE movies of the 90's) but I'm not really that interested in seeing Arquette, Cox and Campbell only return for cameo's to presumably be killed off. That just won't do it for me. Those characters were so well written and rich. By the third movie they were kind of like old friends to us. I want to see where they have progressed after a decade, there's still so much room to maneuver with them. Take a look at other slasher franchises, they immediately became uninteresting when they focused entirely on new characters. Pay the trio what they want and let's have a really great late entry to the series that neither the HALLOWEEN, FRIDAY THE 13TH or NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchises managed.
