Who among us hasn't got traumatic childhood memories of lice outbreaks at school?
That fear is now being fully realised in heightened cinematic form with the bluntly titled horror-thriller Lice, which is set in the 1980s and follows a deadly outbreak of parasitic lice at a Long Island high school.
The school is soon enough put under military lockdown, all while the itchy-headed students start turning on each other while desperately fighting to survive.
Lice has been described as a mash-up of The Breakfast Club and Lord of the Flies, which is more than enough to sell this one, while Emile Hirsch, Kevin Connolly, and genre king Justin Long will star as a burned-out science teacher, detective, and school principal respectively.
Surprisingly enough this one isn't being billed as a horror-comedy but a more straight-faced horror flick, which honestly only makes it a more intriguingly weird offering.
