4. Could There Be A X-23 Spin-Off Or Sequel?

For all of those reasons outlined above, there absolutely could be a spin-off movie focusing on X-23. Her enemy still exists as a corporation, there is room to bring in a Mr Sinister type as the real head of the organisation, and it's not like she's going to be a well-adjusted member of society.

It's somewhat unfortunate that the character has to exist in this universe where mutants have all but been eradicated in America, as it closes a lot of story-line opportunities. She's never going to be an X-Men team member for instance, unless Fox cleverly write in another time-travel conceit and she ends up in the other timeline thanks to Bishop or Cable. Don't rule it out, but maybe don't hold your breath.

What's more likely is that X-23's movie would focus on what remains of Alkali Transigen and the American government's potential involvement. We could easily see a Colonel Stryker type brought in to clean-up, and there is a rather compelling argument for him using a team of mutant clones to hunt X-23 down. She's basically both a weapon of mass destruction and a major national embarrassment rolled into one, after all.
