Who is the true villain of Wonder Woman 1984? Maxwell Lord and Cheetah have been confirmed for the movie, but Gal Gadot was quick to point out that Diana Prince's adversaries this time are not "obvious villains." Why? Well, the actress says that while reading the script, she found herself rooting for them every bit as much as Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor!

She didn't elaborate on that point, but the set reports explain that this version of Lord is the President of Black Gold International and the "King of phony infomercials." He's described as a "desperate, self-obsessed, fraudulent entrepreneur who runs a business selling the American Dream." Interestingly, costume designer Lindy Hemming says he was mostly based on "sleazy" Donald Trump.

As for Cheetah, her transformation is tied into whatever Maxwell Lord is up to, and the timid Dr. Barbara Minerva ultimately "feels physically stronger. She feels more seen and respected in the world, but her power takes a very fast, very dark turn as she transforms into this vicious and savage creature, like nothing we could have ever imagined."

However, it turns out that Cheetah very nearly graced the big screen before this sequel...
