Wonder Woman: 8 Characters Chris Pine Could Really Be Playing
5. Ares
Despite the fact that he's been portrayed as an elderly man as of late, there are plenty of handsome versions of Ares to ensure that Chris Pine being cast wouldn't be a huge departure from the comics. He played a key role in Wonder Woman's title in "The New 52" reboot, and was revealed to be her half-brother after Diana discovered her feather is Zeus. Ares (or War as he's also known) actually played a key role in Wonder Woman's origin story, taking the young Amazonian under his wing and teaching her how to be a warrior. At that time, their relationship was very much a father/daughter one, but they parted ways when Diana refused to slay a Minotaur because she would rather show the beast mercy. Being The God of War means that Ares doesn't age, so Pine could quite easily play the character throughout the different periods of all Wonder Woman's adventures. One of the movie's producers has already confirmed that her ties to Zeus will be touched upon, and as the hero eventually takes over Ares' mantle as War, there's a lot of potentially great stories which could be told should Warner Bros. decide to introduce him in the movie.
