Wonder Woman: 8 Characters Chris Pine Could Really Be Playing

2. Steve Trevor Sr.

If rumours that all three planned Wonder Woman movies will take place in different time periods are correct, having Chris Pine and Steve Trevor appear only in the (presumably World War I set) first instalment would be a huge waste of both the character and actor. In the DC Universe, there has only been one Steve Trevor, but he's existed in different time periods thanks to their ever changing timeline and any number of continuity resetting reboots. However, Warner Bros. could use that to their advantage by initially introducing Pine as the grandfather of the present day Steve Trevor. Pine could then reprise the role in the eventual Wonder Woman movie set in the here and now, as well as Justice League. Trevor was a pivotal part of the League in their early days as he served as a liaison to the United States Government for them, and it would be a great shame to not see that factor into the movies. However, it could potentially be quite confusing (which is probably why Marvel haven't had Hayley Atwell play her own granddaughter Sharon in the Captain America movies), but it would no doubt be an effective way of keeping Pine in the DCCU. Should they decide against that direction, then he could still play Steve Trevor, with his descendent then introduced somewhere down the line played by a different actor.
