Wonder Woman Film: 5 Reasons Why It Should Follow Man Of Steel

2. The Hunger Gameshungergames In March of 2012 a fantasy adventure film based on a character from a book series with a female lead role was released in theaters. When the dust settled and the box office tickets were counted, The Hunger Games had a world-wide gross of $691 million dollars. The Hunger Games book series has only been around for several years. If you compare its history to that of Wonder Woman's, it's barely a drop in the bucket. However, both book series tell the story of a strong-willed and determined woman who fights for what she believes in and does what she can to defend those who can't defend themselves. Regardless of any similarities, The Hunger Games sent a powerful message to all of Hollywood that you can have hugely successful franchises with a woman in the lead role. Some will say it's easier said than done but at the very least, it was proven to be possible. One more thing. If WB doesn't even consider reaching out to Jennifer Lawrence as a possible candidate to wield the Lasso of Truth, then they should just sell all of their DC properties to the highest bidder and get out of the superhero film genre all together.
