We're definitely going to see a traditional First World War film alongside the more comic book pulpy elements and by the look of it, Jenkins has spent a lot of time building an authentic atmosphere to those sequences.
There's a wonderful suggestion here that Wonder Woman is going to invert typical trench warfare scenes by simply walking out of the trench across No Man's Land and capturing the enemy trench single-handedly.
Get hyped for that, because it looks amazing, particularly when she bats a mortar out of the air.
