5. Big City Means Big Trouble
Its safe to say that most large metropolitan cities are the hot spot for disasters in almost all movies. From the clues shown in the trailer, one of these cities is Washington DC. We see people running frantically to their safety while authorities try to preserve the artifacts of our basic governmental structure like the Constitution. Other cities shown in glimpses around the world are also largely populated areas that are infected with the same chaos created possibly by our own ignorance and lack of common sense when dealing with viruses (if in fact that is what we are dealing with but yeah its probably a virus.) With cities being congested with that many people, its a safe bet that whatever is causing the outbreak is going to spread and spread fast. Logic would state that whatever virus is created by nature, scientists and/or the military would probably mean impending doom to any large city rather than it originating in a small rural area where there is a chance of containing it and preventing it from infecting everyone. Then again, logic doesnt make for great plot lines, which brings us to the next thing we learned...
