20 Horror Movies Ruined By TERRIBLE Reveals

11. Schenk Is Jigsaw - Spiral

The ninth Saw film, Spiral, committed the cardinal sin of finally serving up a killer that just about anyone who was paying attention figured out a good while earlier.

After all, midway through the movie, Detective William Schenk (Max Minghella) is apparently killed by Jigsaw, yet the death occurs off-screen and only Schenk's skinned corpse is left behind.

Now, given the Saw series' tendency to linger on the suffering of Jigsaw's victims, it immediately seemed intensely suspicious that Schenk's suffering and demise occurred off-screen.

This, combined with his featureless corpse, made it incredibly easy for seasoned horror fans to assume that he was the killer, as he was indeed later revealed to be.

Even if Schenk's motive for taking up the Jigsaw mantle was interesting - which it wasn't - the utterly limp, predictable death fake-out made it all fall woefully flat, ensuring the film sputtered to a total nothing-burger of a climax.
