One would think that - given the connection shared between the New Mutants and X-Force in the comics - the films will somewhat tie-in together. The aforementioned Warpath made his debut in the pages of New Mutants, and Sunspot - much like Proudstar - did the same.

Roberto da Costa made his comic book debut in 1982, and has gone onto feature in the pages of X-Force, X-Men, Generation-X and the Avengers. He also has the innate ability to absorb solar energy and expel it in all kinds of destructive ways, which - as far as mutant powers go - is pretty cool to be honest.

Despite Adan Canto having portrayed the character in Days of Future Past, Fox have opted for Tony Zaga to don the role in New Mutants, which will see himself and his fellow students trapped against their will in a shady government facility. When things end we could, however, have our first X-Force bound mutant - an exciting prospect indeed.
