Jamie Dornan is a very talented actor who is working hard to get the Fifty Shades Of Grey stink off him. It seems that he's making progress in that regard, and scoring a big part like this would undoubtedly be the final step to moving on with his career.
Dornan seems like a natural fit for leading roles. He's tall, has a classically handsome face and exudes an energy that draws attention. That's why he's an excellent pick for Cyclops.
One thing that he also excels in is adding a little spice of darkness to his characters. His twisted performance in The Fall has imbued him with a sense of something sinister, which could be used to add depth to Cyclops. Perhaps seeing something slightly darker playing behind the visor could give the character the edge he needs to stand out in live-action.
Luckily for Dornan, the puzzle pieces have already started moving for him in the MCU. He has reportedly been tied to the Cinematic Universe, with speculation that he's coming for the Fantastic Four. However, while that sounds promising, there's no denying that he'd be at home as a mutant too.
