9. Jared Padalecki

Jared Padalecki first rose to fame on the popular TV show The Gilmore Girls back in the early 2000's, but he's more recognisable these days for the part of Sam Winchester on Supernatural, which has just been renewed for its tenth season. The show follows Sam and his brother as they travel around the country, hunting paranormal beings that need to be destroyed. So why Padalecki? The TV star has a strong geek fan base already built in, particularly among women, and it's easy to see why. Fortunately, he also looks the part, sharing a similar floppy hairstyle with Gambit and a toned physique. Just CG some red eyes on him and it's a done deal, right? The issue with casting Padalecki is that although he is popular on TV, he has not yet proven himself on the big screen. So far, he only has a few average horror films to his name, although the role of Gambit is not actually for a lead part, so becoming part of a blockbuster ensemble would certainly be a good testing ground for Padalecki on the big screen. Let's just hope the native born Texan can pull off a Cajun accent.
