3. Alexander Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard was a successful child star in his native Sweden, but it's his breakout role in the hit HBO drama True Blood that has since made him an international star. As vampire Eric Northam, Skarsgard is the definition of confidence and sex appeal. Despite starting out as a supporting character on the show, Skarsgard's role was quickly expanded as he became a firm fan favorite. It's impossible to deny that Skarsgard has the right look for the part and he's proved that he can pull off a sexy Southern accent despite his heritage. Most importantly though, the role of Northam showed that Skarsgard can be dark yet still ultimately likable; the perfect combination for an anti-hero like Gambit. No one knows yet what Gambit's story arc in X-Men: Apocalypse will entail, but if the scriptwriters decide to fulfill fan boy dreams everywhere, then we may finally get to see Gambit's relationship with Rogue enacted on screen. If that's the case, Skarsgard has already proved he has incredible chemistry with Anna Paquin, the actress who played Rogue in the original trilogy, so a casting like this would be like fan fiction come to life.
