The inclusion of Legion in X-Men: Apocalypse at all is a long shot, let alone the casting of Ben Hardy as the character, but the fact is that he does have a very key link to the titular villain; he was responsible for the creation of the timeline known as Age Of Apocalypse in the comic books. Thus, certain fan murmurs have both suggested at and yearned for his inclusion. Legion is the son of Charles Xavier and and Israeli Holocaust survivor Gabrielle Haller and he possesses literally thousands of mutant superpowers - with the catch that each one is controlled by a different persona. These powers include reality warping - enabling him to do almost anything he wishes with a thought - and time-travel (making his age and the time in which he appears irrelevant) and he has been nicknamed "God-Mutant", meaning his inclusion may somewhat undermine and overshadow Apocalypse.
