Cable is a character who was created (in the simplest terms) by Mister Sinister with the express purpose of using him to destroy Apocalypse. The son of Cyclops and Jean Grey clone Madelyne Pryor, Cable was incredibly powerful - boasting telepathy, telekinesis, technopathy and excellent combat skills - and was born in the present and sent to future. With the destruction of Apocalypse being his specific purpose, it makes sense that he would appear in a movie called X-Men: Apocalypse. Besides, fans of X-Men have been calling for him to appear for years. His time-travelling exploits - and the fact that time-travel is now an established concept in the X-Men movie universe - mean that when he was born should have no impact on when he appears in the movie continuity or what age he should be when he appears. Having him attempt to kill Apocalypse could be the key to defeating him in the movie, but he could equally end up being recruited into Apocalypse's Four Horsemen group, which would be a cool twist on the canon. Regardless, with a Deadpool movie coming, the inclusion of Cable in the X-Men movie universe is heavily likely, and a possibility for Hardy.
