8. An Unhappy Ending For Legion
So everything goes to pot because of Legion's ill-fated attempt to fix the future. How do you fix his fixing? By removing Legion from the equation, obviously. Which Bishop himself eventually manages to do, leaping back from the dark, Apocalypse-run future to ensure that Xavier's mad son doesn't accidentally kill his father's dream before it's even begun. It's a climactic and affecting ending, with Legion dying in Bishop's arms after being told he turned the world into a nightmare, but it'd be disappointing to see on screen. For one thing, again, it'd be way too similar to the Days Of Future Past film, where everything goes back to normal after some time-travel shenanigans. For another, if Legion gets introduced it would suck majorily to kill him off in the same film. Xavier's long-lost son recently got really interesting thanks to the comic X-Men: Legacy, where his multiple personalities are depicted as a jail in his mind where he can access a persona at a time, imbuing Legion with a new set of powers. That'd be a great spin-off film! Don't lose him so soon!
