X-Men: Apocalypse - 11 Things To Expect Now We've Seen Days Of Future Past
2. Weapon X?
One of the remaining plot-holes - or at least unresolved plot points - in Days Of Future Past is the issue of Wolverine's adamantium skeleton. We know that the comics gave Wolverine his shiny claws thanks to the Weapon X programme, under the guidance of William Stryker, but the end of DOFP seems to suggest that Wolverine is not now headed in that direction (at least not yet) as he's fallen into the care of Mystique who was pretending to be Stryker. Sooner or later, we're going to have to see Wolverine gain his iconic enhanced skeleton, so that's either going to mean that Stryker returns and convinces - or forces - Wolverine to become his guinea pig, or Singer will have to look to the comics for another way to graft the metal to his bones. Apocalypse actually offers that very solution, as well as the re-introduction of Sabretooth: in The Twelve story arc, Apocalypse abducts Wolverine and pits him against Sabretooth in battle to decide which will become the Horseman of Death, and when the berserker wins, Apocalypse strips Sabretooth of his adamantium skeleton and bonds it to Wolverine. That might not be as iconic an arc as Weapon X, but it would offer a new take, and allow us to see Wolverine on the bad side of the force, which can be no bad thing.
