X-Men: Apocalypse - 11 Things To Expect Now We've Seen Days Of Future Past

6. Archangel

Having been introduced and under-used in X-Men: The Last Stand, Angel was subsequently dropped from the franchise, and implicitly counted as one of the casualties of war, but with a new timeline all but eradicating that film, there's every possibility that we could see the return of the character to play a significant role for Apocalypse. Having lost his wings after a battle with Harpoon, a despondent Angel apparently attempts suicide by crashing his plane (though it is subsequently shown to have been sabotage) but is saved by Apocalypse, who cuts a deal with him to give him his wings back if he plays the part of Death in his Horsemen. The idea of Angel being revived with the darker edge would be a great opportunity to re-introduce a popular character, and to further show fans how wrong Brett Ratner's vision was for Singer. And though it's unlikely, it would actually fit to have Ben Foster play the character again, considering how well he's played creepy and outright evil characters since appearing in The Last Stand.
