7. The Four Horsemen
Though they weren't exactly an obvious presence in the post-credits scene, it was possible to see Apocalypse's Four Horsemen in the background. The immediate suggestion is that the mutant will bring his Horsemen with him, but this imagery could well just be a tease of something for the film There's a distinct possibility that we could see Apocalypse, newly awakened, building his team of Horsemen up from scratch at the start of the movie, and also putting a team of disillusioned or flat out evil mutants together to form his Alliance Of Evil. As Simon Kinberg said in his IGN interview, that will also probably include familiar characters:
Weve also been talking about how to give him a real emotional and philosophical underpinning. So hes not just somebody whos out there destroying the world because he can. What hes doing is in his mind justified and validated by a real compelling, coherent philosophy. He tries to proselytize and convert people maybe some of our most familiar characters to come to his cause.
That surely means Magneto, and probably Mystique, since both aren't exactly fans of humans, and it also opens the possibility of Wolverine becoming a Horsemen under Mystique's influence, as well as possible appearances for Psylocke, who has been a Horseman in the comics, and a means to introduce Gambit, who has played Death as well. The idea of a threat to mutants that employs some of the most powerful, and traditionally good-aligned mutants is easily the most appealing aspect of the Horsemen's inclusion. That could mean a reprise for another neglected X-Men character...
