X-Men: Apocalypse - 14 Things You Need To Know

14. Bryan Singer Is Back

After an 11 year absence, Bryan Singer returned to the X-Men fold last year with Days Of Future Past. And despite working with a significantly bigger budget and a cast that was almost entirely new to him, it was like he'd never been away - Days Of Future Past was not just the best X-Men film since Singer's previous franchise effort, X2, but it may have actually been the best of them all. There were shaky ventures in the interim, but after Brett Ratner's incredibly average The Last Stand, Gavin Hood's dire Origins, Matthew Vaughn's pretty good First Class and James Mangold's decent if flawed The Wolverine, the X-Men series was finally back in the safest hands it could be in. So, good news: Singer is back for X-Men: Apocalypse, and the thing's started shooting already, so thankfully there's no chance of him dropping out now as he did with The Last Stand. With even more money at their disposal and the momentum carrying over from Days, Singer and returning screenwriter Simon Kinberg will hopefully deliver something just as special.
