X-Men: Apocalypse - 8 Ways The New Trailer Killed Your Anticipation

8. The Entire Plot Has Been Laid Out (And It Feels Really Bland & Predictable)

While previous trailers for Apocalypse have done a relatively good job of keeping an air of mystery about the plot for the latest film, the new trailer has opted for the "let's reveal absolutely everything" approach (oh, how we all love that approach). The teaser pretty much outlines the entire plot for X-Men: Apocalypse and what's more, in showing so much footage the film actually comes across as bland and predictable. It's like a gallery of cliches: this is just another superhero blockbuster, complete with bridges being blown up outside cities and several cars being exploded down a street. It doesn't feel at all special. Fatally, even the film's ending has potential been spoiled. Seriously: during the first moments of this trailer, which show Magneto - dressed very similarly to how he was dressed in the first X-Men film back in 2000 - talking to Charles Xavier, he looks fresh, and not at all like the beaten, sweaty Magneto shown in the rest of the trailer. It seems fair to assume, then, that this scene has been taken from the ending of Apocalypse... So we're pretty much assured that he's not going to die.
