X-Men: Apocalypse - 9 Reasons To Be Excited

1. The Potential To Kick-Start A New Cinematic Universe

For a long time now there have been rumors that Fox was planning to use all of the Marvel properties they currently hold the rights for to establish their own shared cinematic universe. We know Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool will be set in the same continuity as the X-movies and we've already had confirmation of Gambit and the New Mutants - but what about the Fantastic Four reboot?

The latest word 'round the campfire claims that not only will Josh Trank's reboot exist in the same universe, but that Fox wants Bryan Singer to take over from Trank on the sequel and work towards an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover in 2018.

There's no official word on this yet, but it definitely makes sense - and if Singer is indeed planning to shepherd these films towards a joined universe, there's always the chance we'll see the seeds sewn in X-Men: Apocalypse. A full-on cameo from The Thing is highly unlikely of course, but foundations laid through a few subtle (or not so subtle) easter eggs is a possibility.
