X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 10 Questions The Movie Must Answer

8. What Happened To The Professor's First Students?

In the first film, Xavier explains to Logan that Jean and Cyclops were some of his first students. First Class pretty much refutes that statement. Granted, he did say "some of" his first students," not "the first," so there is definitely some wiggle room available there. It should be noted, however, that when the Professor first uses Cerebro, he sees Storm, already a young girl in the 60s. In Origins, we witness his apparent recruitment of Cyclops, who by 1978 is a teenager. Interestingly, Jean isn't recruited until 20 years prior to the events of X3, which, given that these events take place even further into the 'not too distant future' of 96, would be about 1976. Either way, it would appear that contrary to what is established in the first film, neither Cyclops, Jean, nor Storm were really a part of the first class, or even the same classes. Hopefully, we'll receive some clarification, but it's doubtful, seeing as Jean and Cyclops are pretty much the only two mutants who haven't been confirmed to be returning for the next installment.
