X-Men Days Of Future Past: 20 Big Questions That Still Need Answers

5. How Is Xavier In His Old Body?

In The Last Stand Xavier was "killed" by Jean Grey and his body was vaporised. But in the post-credits scene he talks to Moira via what director Brett Ratner referrs to as the body of Xavier's twin brother, implying a consciousness transfer. For some time it appeared as if we'd never get any answers regarding that scene. But with Days of Future Past coming out we'll finally get some closure pertaining to Xavier's fate. Regarding that body being Xaviers brother €“ the problem is that we never see the man's face and Xavier having a brother is never referenced in The Last Stand or the previous two films. So in Days of Future Past how does Xavier get his old body back after it was vaporised by Jean? Patrick Stewart implied time travel was the answer, which does suggest certain plot points from The Last Stand may be retconned, which lends credence to the theory that Cyclops is alive.

4. How Can Xavier Walk?

Promo pictures the younger Xavier standing up in the prison in which Magneto being held, and this is surprising considering Xavier was paralyzed at the end of First Class. Xavier being paralysed caused some major continuity problems with The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine €“ in both films (set after the events of First Class), Xavier was seen walking. One theory people have is that in Days of Future Past he is projecting an image of himself. It's possible that Origins and The Last Stand, Xavier is also projecting an image of himself walking, which would match up with Days of Future Past. However, the real answer appears to have come from James McAvoy. McAvoy has said Xavier walking relates to something Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) does for him, but that it comes with a price. That's a vague answer but it suggests some intriguing character development for Xavier in this film.
