X-Men Movies: 7 Perfect Performances & 7 That Sucked
3. Ben Hardy - Angel

It's one of the greatest tragedies of the X-Men movie franchise that Ben Foster was so horribly underused in X-Men: The Last Stand, but he hadn't really blossomed into the phenomenal actor he is now at that point and there were far bigger issues with that film.
Clearly, his limited performance wasn't enough to put Fox off the character entirely, because they brought him back for X-Men: Apocalypse with British newcomer Ben Hardy cast. It didn't work out particularly well, because this fight club version of the character was no more than a one-dimensional sidekick given hopelessly little to do who ended up being hamstrung even further by his awful design.
Hardy struggled to make even a remote impact and while Fox retained the rights to use him again, the fact that he wasn't even so much as mentioned in Dark Phoenix suggests they weren't that enthusiastic either.
