Even if you aren't quite convinced, you should have faith in Josh Boone just yet, the one person who's working behind the camera on The New Mutants you should have the utmost faith in is Peter Deming.

Deming is the film's cinematographer and, with thirty years of experience, has served the same purpose for such films as Drag Me to Hell, The Cabin in the Woods, the Scream series (specifically Scream 2, 3, and 4), as well as Evil Dead II, which is one of the single best horror films ever made. In addition, Deming also worked on the acclaimed 2017 Twin Peaks revival series.

So, in other words, Deming knows a thing or two about shooting a horror (or horror-themed) project. He knows how to capture shots that are not only creepy, but are also aesthetically pleasing and doing so in a way that flows smoothly. He's been a part of some great horror film in the past and it's a fairly safe bet that he will continue to work his magic in The New Mutants.
