10 Most Awkwardly Titled Movie Blockbusters In Recent Memory

4. Quantum Of Solace (2008)

Although not the worst title in the 50-plus year cinematic history of 007 (Octopussy will take some beating...), when it was announced that the follow-up to the brilliant reboot Casino Royale would be titled Quantum of Solace most people were wondering exactly what it was supposed to mean, while many still do. Deliberately vague and with more than a hint of pretentiousness, the title relates to the smallest degree of comfort that can exist between two people in a relationship. While it makes sense given the thematic ties and mental state of Daniel Craig's James Bond in this movie following the death of Vesper Lynd, its hardly the most engaging title for a $200m blockbuster. After the title was chosen for the movie, it was decided that QUANTUM would also be the name of the rebooted series' villainous organization to further tie in with the title. An unwieldy, unremarkable and ever-so-slightly confusing title for a movie that suffered from much of the same problems.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
