X-Men: Apocalypse - 15 Questions Left By The Stupidest X-Movie Ever

6. Why Does Alkali Lake Have Teenage And Female Suits?

Just had your school base destroyed along with all you high-tech equipment? Well don't worry - Alkali Lake has you covered. Not only does it have a jet that looks enough like a Blackbird to be an X-Jet, but it comes packaged with a host of black flight-cum-fight suits (yellow is so nineties). What a lucky coincidence!

That's all pretty contrived as it is and suggests that either Quicksilver's scene or Wolverine's cameo as a late-addition forced into the script, but what smacks so hard is the infeasibility of all this convenience. Alkali Lake is a secret military base populated mainly by male soldiers. So why are there bust-accentuating female armour plates? And if you can buy that, then why do they have teenage males ones? For those lucky kids on the work experience program?

X-Men: Apocalypse had already invited a fair bit of controversy with its return to all-black suits, but having them appear in such a random, easily reworkable way almost seems to suggest Singer is making fun of us.
