12. How Is Storm Such A Bad Pickpocket?
Do you know what happens to an X-Men actress the fans hate when the franchise reboots? Same thing that happens to everyone else (I know that's bad, but so is the original line, so come at me).
After four movies with Halle Berry as Storm, we finally have a new Ororo - Alexandra Shipp. Whether she's better than Berry is hard to gage, given that she spends most of the film a expression-less horseman, but there's definite promise. Although already she's got some pretty dumb character tics (nothing quite on the level of that toad-lightening line though).
Just look at her complete inability at performing a basic pickpocket, despite being the head of a group of pickpockets; she uses the wind to distract a couple of vendors for a moment, then grabs the money and runs, but by that point everyone's figured out what she's doing. Even if a light gust is all she's capable of pre-Apocalypse, there's things she can do that are more effective than the equivalent of having an accomplice just knock a few boxes over - she spends so long on the distraction that it's over when she's actually ready to steal.
How has she survived this long? I'm an upstanding, law-abiding citizen and I can steal more effectively than that.
