X-Men Apocalypse: 36 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes & References You Need To See

10. Wolverine Loves Jean

Despite this being a different timeline, there's an echo from the original Singer trilogy in the flash of familiarity (and possibly affection) that Jean Grey and Wolverine share just before he escapes the facility. It is revealed that it is Jean who gives him the scrap of information that his name is Logan (how he loses his memory is still unclear but let's just accept it was part of his near death at the end of Days Of Future Past or something).

The moment also mirrors the end of X-Men: The Last Stand, only with the roles reversed. In that film, Logan uses Jean's feelings for him to help calm her down from her Phoenix rage, and in this case Jean uses his unconscious attraction to her to take him out of his berserker rage (i.e. the same way Black Widow does for Hulk in Avengers: Age Of Ultron).
