2. Storm - Halle Berry

Of all the casting decisions made for the X-Men series, few have been more controversial than that of Halle Berry as Storm, a role which has been steadily diminished as the series has progressed, perhaps on account of the increasing amount of derision the actor has faced over the years.

One of the most prominent characters in the comic books, Storm is noted for her commanding presence, Amazonian stature and an aura akin to a goddess. Sadly, these are all qualities which were almost entirely absent from Berry's performance in the role, delivering lines in a meek and underwhelming tone when something far more dominating was required.

While it's fair to say that part of the problem lay in the fact that the role has been underwritten for the screen, it would have been interesting to see what an actor like Angela Bassett might have brought to the character. As far as Berry is concerned, and in spite of her reduced role as the series progresses she'd still love to see a stand alone Storm movie.

Most fans would agree - just as long as someone else stepped up to the role.
