X-Men Movies: 5 Awesome Performances & 5 That Sucked
1. Wolverine - Hugh Jackman

Of all the actors who have played iconic comic book characters over the years, few have managed to become so instantly identified with the role as Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine. Having embodied the character for over 15 years, the challenge of finding a suitable replacement for him after he makes his final appearance in next year's Wolverine film will be a great one.
With his perfect physique, chiselled jaw and long sideburns, Jackman is clearly the live-action spitting image of the comic book Wolverine, his innate athleticism bringing real weight to the action sequences. But the real reason for the success of his performance lies in Jackman's ability to express so much without words, conveying the character's emotions - and hinting at his complex past - with only subtle tics.
Jackman studied great actors like Clint Eastwood in order to perfect the kind of stoic presence required for Wolverine, resulting in a truly faithful performance on the same level as Christopher Reeve's iconic performance as Superman.
And now on the performances that sucked...
