X-Men Movies: 5 Awesome Performances & 5 That Sucked
4. Toad - Ray Park (X-Men)
Ray Park made his first and last appearance in the X-Men franchise way back in the first X-Men movie from 2000, and you'd be hard pushed to find a single fan calling out for his reinstatement to the series any time soon.
Park may have possessed a natural ability for leaping around and performing some impressive stunts (he portrayed Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, a role similarly bereft of any nuance), but a good actor he is not. While Toad may have been a snivelling servant to Magneto in the comic books, Park attempts to bring a degree of sarcasm and cocky charm to the character - and fails miserably.
Toad isn't the first comic book movie character to have suffered from a complete lack of depth and range, but here the performance is almost entirely one-note, and Park's absence from the franchise can only be viewed as an improvement.
