You had to know it would happen. SHORT CIRCUIT remake!

Hollywood is just swings & roundabouts!

A shameful capitalisation of the Pixar's upcoming Wall-E movie is under-way at Dimension Films. Variety say the studio have acquired the rights to remake the classic 1986 kids movie Short Circuit, whose lead robotic appearance was a HUGE influence on the look of this Summer's movie...

The original introduced Number 5, a robot built by the military to be a highly sophisticated weapon. It developed a conscience and a personality after being hit by lightning, and then needed the help of humans after it was targeted for destruction by its makers, once it became a peacenik.
S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock who created the character 20 years ago has been hired to write the remake. The original themes explored in the original will be in tact with the only real change being the advances in technology for the new version. Which of course means CGI! Don't you just hate Hollywood?
