10 2017 Video Games That Wasted Their Biggest Selling Point

5. Delivering A Phenomenal, Halo-Rivalling Story - Destiny 2

Destiny 2

For some reason that seems continually impossible to parse out, Destiny has one of the most passionate fanbases out there, doggedly running and re-running the same missions over and over, attempting to get better gear. Simply because of that (the average player has an play-count of 500 hours), all eyes were on the sequel to, well, justify such devotion in a more obvious and accepted manner.

Sadly, the reality of Destiny 2 is that Bungie essentially released the same game again. Yes, there are scores of new items and weapons, but from character creation screens and menus to the general feel of gameplay in regards to power-ups and movement, there is VERY little to differentiate the two.

All of this might have been more acceptable, had the story of Destiny 2 delivered. Yet again though, Bungie dropped the ball, spinning a threadbare yarn of one giant evil alien named Ghaul, who was out to steal the Traveller (the giant orb above Earth), only to get taken out by the good guys.

That's it. That was literally all they wrote.
