10 "Secret" Upcoming Video Games We Already Know About
4. Silent Hill Reboot AND Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills
One of the most intriguing recent rumours doing the rounds is that Sony has quietly acquired the Silent Hill license from Konami for two new and very different entries into the series.
Firstly, a soft reboot of Silent Hill is already a few months into development, with several members of the original Team Silent - including the first game's writer-director Keiichiro Toyama, artist Masahiro Ito, and composer Akira Yamaoka - collaborating with SIE Japan Studio on the title.
The second game will reportedly see Hideo Kojima return to his aborted Silent Hills project, which is said to be an episodic title designed with next-gen VR in mind.
Though Konami representatives claim they haven't sold the IP to Sony, it'd hardly be the first time a PR rep toyed with a member of the press in order to preserve a surprise.
The whispers about at least one new Silent Hill game being in development are simply too loud for this not to be true in some form, and given how long fans have been waiting for a new mainline entry into the survival horror franchise, the reveal can't come soon enough.
