10 Absurdly Hard Games You Never Beat
4. F-Zero GX
Due to its dynamic gameplay, gorgeous level design, and head-bopping tunes, F-Zero GX is a highlight in the series and one of the most underrated driving games ever.
Having said that, it's impossible not to discuss GX without mentioning how tough it is. In this racer, each driver's machine moves up to 2,000km per hour. If you mistime a turn while moving that fast, it could result in your death. It's so tricky to control your vehicle while it's breaking the sound barrier, you can easily sail off the road.
Although beating the game normally is taxing, completing any cup on Master Mode is a Herculean task. AI opponents rubber-band like crazy, allowing them to catch up no matter how fast you go. On harder modes, computer-controlled racers slam into you at any opportunity. Even if they don't knock you off the track, they can send you to last place, giving you no chance of recovering.
Most annoying of all, the AI drive on Master Mode with near frame-perfect execution. For this reason, you can come in at 17th place despite making zero mistakes.
Even though you're expected to complete every race on Master Mode, winning one cup is pure torture.
