10 Absurdly Hard Games You Never Beat

5. Enter The Gungeon

Dodge Roll

Enter the Gungeon is a fast-paced, bullet-hell game where players explore a constantly shifting fortress to find a legendary gun that can destroy the past. Boasting 300 weapons, beautiful retro art, and addictive rogeulike gameplay, Dodge Roll's title is an absolute blast.

Despite receiving high praise, many reviews emphasised Enter the Gungeon's barbaric difficulty again and again and again.

One of the main reasons why the game is infuriating is because of the randomised loot system. Although randomisation plays a big factor in roguelikes, like Hades and Dead Cells, it's possible to win, even if you're stuck with minor enhancements. But if you don't get the best arsenal in Gungeon early on, you might as start from scratch.

Gungeon demands pixel-perfect dodging, especially in later floors. Players with flawless reflexes are sure to struggle with evading projectiles since they blend in with the background.

Also, there's no easy way to heal. If you take early hits, there's rarely a way to come back. Shops occasionally sell health, but it's almost not worth it due to the high cost.

Enter the Gungeon is still worth checking out, but you have to accept the fact that winning is highly unlikely.
