Despite receiving high praise, many reviews emphasised Enter the Gungeon's barbaric difficulty again and again and again.

Although randomisation plays a big factor in roguelikes, like Hades and Dead Cells, it's possible to win, even if you're stuck with minor enhancements. But if you don't get the best arsenal in Gungeon early on, you might as start from scratch.
