10 Alternate Video Game Costumes You Never Took Off
1. Scarlet Spider - Spider-Man (PS4)
Insomniac's Spider-Man is a collector's paradise, as the gorgeous Manhattan Skyline is littered with interesting trinkets, and subtle nods to the decades of comics that preceded it. As the years have rolled by for the wall-crawler, there have been a number of suits that have lined the pages, and the game wonderfully implements a handful of the best ones.
Though many are lovingly-crafted, it's the Scarlet Spider costume that steals the show.
A reference to Ben Reilly's Spider-Man featured prominently in the Clone Saga in the mid-1990's, this suit simply looks spectacular, and bears enough similarities with Spider-Man's traditional suit to not stand out like a sore thumb during story cutscenes.
The clean crimson tights, wide eyes and cut-off hoodie bring a layer of authenticity to a character who's superhuman abilities are constantly on display, and zipping through Greenwich Village or Chinatown wearing the iconic red and blue simply doesn't get old. It feels like a half-step into urban fashion that Miles Morales' Sportswear suit completely submerges itself in.
The Scarlet Spider suit brings Peter Parker back down to earth, sporting a hoodie that countless regular people would on a daily basis, and many will forgo any other suits for that reason alone.
