10 Amazing Games You Didn't Realise Aged HORRIBLY
1. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
The legacy of the Uncharted franchise is so storied that it's easy to forget just how far things have moved on since the original game.
While the Uncharted series is largely credited with finding its cinematic groove in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the original game is still the action-packed, Indiana Jones-aping extravaganza that made Nathan Drake a Sony icon.
But if you go back and revisit the original Uncharted today, even in its remastered form, it's a rickety experience.
Sure, it still looks good, but Uncharted's gameplay feels a whole world away from basically everything Naughty Dog has made since. The biggest culprit is the mind-numbingly repetitive combat, which too often devolves into a relentless shooting gallery.
Throw in roughshod controls and awkward cover mechanics, and the first Uncharted is a genuine struggle to get through. And that's without even bringing up those dreadful jet-ski sequences.
While the other Uncharted games have all aged impressively well for the most part, the original feels like a thin sketch - an extremely bristly draft of the greatness the series would later achieve.
