10 Amazing Recent Games That Were 5 Hours Or Less
Incredible new games you can beat in an afternoon.

It's a common complaint among gamers these days that so many video games are just too damn long.
As publishers race to justify those hefty day-one AAA price tags, it often seems to become less about quality than quantity - about packing a game with as much listless busy-work as possible in order to keep customers busy.
And so, in a time where there are more bloated 60-hour behemoths than ever before, it's always refreshing to sit down and play a game that you can beat in a single afternoon - say, over five laid-back hours.
Games that don't monopolise our attention for weeks on end are a damn blessing.
With that in mind, it's often said that brevity is the soul of wit, and these games all categorically back that statement up, by getting in and getting out in less than five hours - and often much less than that - while telling a complete and satisfying story.
There's not an ounce of fat on any of these games, from surprise indie horror hits to one of the funniest games of the entire decade. Whatever they are, each is absolutely well worth your attention...
10. MiSide

Don't let its initially cosy, aggressively kawaii aesthetic fool you - MiSide is far from the frothy anime-styled dating sim we've all seen so many times.
Without giving too much away, developer AIHASTO's bold and provocative game has some seriously twisted tricks up its sleeve you surely won't see coming.
In a similar vein to Doki Doki Literature Club!, what begins as an adorable hangout game soon enough morphs into something far more disturbing, with a horrifyingly meta twist to boot.
The result is one of the most brilliantly unpredictable and regularly shocking releases of the past year, and one that shows you everything it has to offer inside of a tight four-ish hours.
The pacing, which pinballs the player between cutesy dating sim and nerve-shredding stalker game, is note perfect from start to finish, ensuring its already-brief play-time can fizzle away over a lazy afternoon.
