10 Amazing Video Game Rewards Stupidly Locked Behind 100% Completion

The issue with Plague Inc.'s post-game rewards is a peculiar one, as technically the system is designed to incentivize you to keep playing. Each run you complete awards you with new genes and diseases to play with, so you have a reason to start another. On paper, it sounds like a smart and logical system, but in reality, it only made the players grow more bored with the game.

Now, why was that the case? The simple answer is that this system of unlocks makes the game feel too linear. Instead of being able to choose which gene you want to unlock first, you have to unlock them in a specific order by repeating the same run over and over again. The freedom you're supposed to be given by having access to a range of different diseases is taken away from you and obtained only after you fully complete the game.

It's obvious that not everyone had the patience to get there, which is a shame because the genes you unlock towards the end can actually be a lot of fun. Especially if you give your plagues an appropriately nonsensical name.
