10 Amazing Video Games You'll Never Get To Play

4. Agent

What it was meant to be: The beginnings of a bold new IP, courtesy of Rockstar North. You know, the same folks responsible for those little-known franchises Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

Announced nearly a decade ago as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Agent was primed to be another instant win for the studio, a stealth and action hybrid set during the Cold War.

Players would have been pulled into "the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations," according to Rockstar's original press release, though all went dark after that.

But a handful of environmental screenshots released by a former Rockstar employee are all we ever saw of the new venture.

Why you'll never play it: Likely for the same reasons that you'll be long in the tooth before Bully or Max Payne sequels ever come to fruition. Rockstar's just too damn busy pouring its heart and soul into Red Dead Redemption 2. Prior to that, it was Grand Theft Auto V and post-Read Dead 2, it'll no doubt be GTA VI.

In other words, unless either of those franchises ever goes under (read: never), Agent will remain vaporware.
