Announced at E3 2019, From Software's follow up effort to their iconic Dark Soul's series Elden Ring is an upcoming action role playing game. The game is headed by Soul's series genius Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones writer George RR Martin- and in a surprise to absolutely no Game of Thrones fans, it is taking its time to be released.

Miyazaki announced Elden Ring as a natural evolution to the Souls series, focusing on a more open world, larger scale environment than From Soft's previous efforts. A natural evolution is a phrase bound to excite Souls fans with the notoriously difficult franchise having proven to be a beloved bittersweet experience for players over many years since the originals release.

With all this in mind, the announcement at E3 understandably drew quite a clamour from all corners of the gaming world. People were excited to see where From Soft would go next after the end of the Souls series and with no sign as of yet of a follow up to the exemplary Bloodborne and Elden Ring's teaser was the first look at the studios next step. Sadly it remains to this day the only look at it as well.
